ABOUT

Hello! I’m Lua, my pronouns are they & she. I am a live artist.

My latest work includes Whale Song: A storybook & immersive experience for children + families exploring bereavement, friendship & love; commissioned by The Herd + Arts Council England funded.

NEUROQUEER: A live artwork from Theatre with Legs; a playful, disruptive, dreaming, joyous, experimental & heartfelt exploration of queerness, neurodivergence, race, class & gender. A collaboration between two friends, supported by Neuroqueering Humans, Theatre In The Mill, Camden People’s Theatre & The Southbank.

Alongside my art-making I am a carer and a teacher (AGE UK, Outside The Box, Mind The Gap) and I am thrilled to become a part of EdShift.

I am passionate about the work EdShift is doing to celebrate & safeguard children and young people, because I know firsthand that art can be used as a sharp tool to dismantle structures of oppression & lovingly connect us.

As a child growing up in Bradford – art was a safe space for me, a sanctuary! For me, a job that combines art with relationships is work that I want to be a part of.

My hypersensitivity makes me stand out. I have Irlen’s Syndrome which is part of my very sensitive brain. It is a superpower because I can feel everything! I need my rest though.
