Little Nests is a specialist Art Therapy where children use art materials and peer connection to work with difficult emotions, build trust, and develop confidence.
Little Nests is EdShift’s Tier 3 Group Art Therapy programme for children who need specialist therapeutic support in a small-group setting. Through art materials, therapeutic support, and peer connection, children can communicate difficult feelings, build confidence, and take part at their own pace.
It may be suitable for children experiencing emotional distress, isolation, shame, self-blame, low confidence, or difficulties regulating emotions.
Trauma can leave children feeling isolated, ashamed, or different from others. Group Art Therapy can reduce that isolation by giving children a space to create alongside peers, where they can notice shared experiences, and build trust over time. Little Nests offers timely therapeutic support for children who may not need one-to-one Art Therapy, but would benefit from structured group intervention.
Each Little Nests group is shaped around trust, creativity, and therapeutic support.
Sessions may include:
Children are not pressured to talk before they are ready. Art gives them another way to communicate at their own pace.
Little Nests takes place at EdShift @ The YouthBase. While the group is running, parents and carers may be able to wait in the reception area and have a hot drink.
