About Us

Creating Their Futures/ Shaping The World.

About Us

We are on a mission to tackle the root causes of domestic abuse and violence, transforming the lives of children and young people through the healing power of the arts.

We provide a safe space for young people to explore emotions, make sense of their experiences and rebuild connections.

Our innovative programmes combine the transformative power of the arts to address trauma, foster resilience, and promote healthy relationships.

Through creative expression, we help children and young people develop a deeper understanding of their experiences, breaking down barriers to healing and growth.

Our comprehensive approach not only supports healing but also equips young people with the tools to recognise and challenge abusive patterns, paving the way for a future free from violence.

We are a force for change, offering both prevention and support. By addressing the root causes of domestic abuse and violence, we aim to create lasting impact, empowering young people to overcome their trauma and have the courage and aspiration to lead healthy, fulfilling lives.

EdShift @ The Youthbase

A sense of safety, community and belonging

EdShift @ The YouthBase is a comprehensive arts base, supporting the relationships and  emotional wellbeing of children and young people aged 4-21.

We support children and their families, connect with our community, and collaborate with professionals and partners to break the cycle of domestic abuse and violence.

Since we established EdShift @ The YouthBase in May 2023, it has become a beacon of hope and support, where young people can turn to for guidance on their relationships and access support for their emotional wellbeing.

It’s a safe space where young people can meet peers who understand their experiences, explore their emotions through the arts, and feel validated, believed, and understood in a safe space.

For families: The YouthBase enables us to empower active engagement in your child’s support, fostering collective growth and success. You might engage in sessions during our Art Therapy or view your children’s art work as part of our SpotLight Sessions.

We’re committed to supporting our families during the cost of living crisis. To help, we provide discreet food parcels containing essential food and sanitary items. This support allows you and your children to focus on your healing and recovery, without worrying about the basics.

Our mission is to empower young people with the knowledge and skills to make informed choices about their relationships and emotional wellbeing.

Through a comprehensive pathway of support we provide the right support and strategies to for children and young people to overcome their adverse experiences, and offer opportunities for them to become proactive change-makers in tackling domestic abuse and sexual violence in our community.
