Domestic abuse has a profound impact on my home community of Calderdale and is an issue very close to my heart. Being a child and adult survivor of domestic abuse makes me strive to ensure that EdShift continues to have an impact so we can make a lasting difference to the lives of the children we support.
I am excited to be supporting children and families in Calderdale who are being supported by the programme. My background is a combination of working as a community artist alongside supporting young people with complex needs to access education.
Over the past decade I've worked across educational and third sector organisations. I've dedicated my working life to helping others overcome challenges, and have supported them to flourish in their lives.
I have a passion for supporting young people struggling with their mental health and emotional wellbeing. Through my love of yoga, mindfulness and meditation I bring practical strategies that can help in difficult times.
For me, EdShift is the perfect place to have a positive impact on the community. I am blessed to be a part of this team, as it means I am able to contribute to the amazing work that EdShift continues to do.
To be a part of a team which focuses on creativity and the power of expression through art, is so exciting. I have a passion for helping others, and want to help promote positive change and education for the next generation.
I am calm, loyal and resilient. I try to use all life experiences and challenges as something to learn from and take forward into being a better person. I love preplanning and being organised.
I believe art is special in its universal practice, its unique ability to soothe and comfort can be experienced by all and has been a constant source of comfort and expression for me throughout my life.
I have a passion for working with young people in the community, bringing voices to those who need to be heard, and contributing to social repair through meaningful engagement.
