Why Volunteer With EdShift?

Volunteers help keep EdShift running day to day. Your time can help prepare rooms, organise resources, pack supplies, support events, and make The YouthBase ready for sessions and community activity. Every role helps create the care around each child.

How you can help

There are different ways to volunteer, depending on your time, skills, and confidence.

Support the YouthBase

Help prepare spaces, organise resources, manage stock, support admin, or keep the building ready for sessions.

Support In Touch Youth Club

Help with activities, refreshments, set-up, pack-down, and practical session tasks.

Help with events and fundraising

Support community events, campaigns, awareness activities, fundraising, or one-off projects.

Support practical projects

Pack emergency food bags, prepare resources, create programme materials, or help with behind-the-scenes tasks.

Volunteer in a way that works for you

You do not need fixed weekly hours to volunteer. Some people help regularly; others support one-off activities, practical projects, fundraising, or team days. Volunteering can help you give back locally, use your skills, meet new people, gain experience, and feel part of a supportive team.

What we ask from volunteers

Because we work with children and families, volunteering must be safe and supported. Depending on the role, you may need to complete a DBS check, take part in training, follow safeguarding guidance, and commit to agreed tasks or activities.

Some roles ask for around 36 hours a year, or roughly 3 hours a month. We will talk this through with you before you start.

Volunteering as a team

Businesses, community groups, and organisations can volunteer with EdShift. Your team could help paint or prepare spaces, organise resources, pack bags, support fundraising, or take part in a practical project at The YouthBase.

It is a practical way to give back locally while helping EdShift prepare spaces, resources, and projects that support children and families.
