Hello, I’m Gemma, I come from a handy family and feel lucky that I was encouraged to play and make whilst growing up. Now I have practical skills that feel like old friends and link me to the people I learned them from. Creative play gives me a space to think things through and I’m honoured to be able to hold a space for others to do the same. I’ve worked over twenty years in arts, health and education, running courses and projects in communities using creativity to support wellbeing and develop life skills.
I’m most happy in overalls making or painting something or walking out over the hills and woods of Calderdale. I love moving: dancing, walking, cycling, drawing, swimming – I find movement can help to shift our moods and energy – so moving, making and getting outside are a big part of my personal prescription for wellbeing. I’ve been told I listen well and I always seek to meet people where they are at and promise to take you seriously. I’m really proud to be part of the team here at EdShift and I look forward to meeting you in person.
