Hi, I’m Georgia. My pronouns are she/her.
Over the past decade I’ve worked across educational and third sector organisations. I’ve dedicated my working life to helping others overcome challenges, and have supported them to flourish in their lives. I’ve held roles in primary schools, higher education institutions, older-people’s networks, and been part of national lottery funded projects.
I love film and moving image. Specifically I’ve got a real interest in stop motion animation and how the creativity of the form can help us tell our stories in unique and imaginative ways. I worked with a Leeds organisation to deliver therapeutic art workshops during the COVID-19 pandemic. We made short animations and artwork with different community groups experiencing isolation as a result of social distancing restrictions. Our projects helped foster a sense of community, providing space for self-expression and reflection.
I’ve also created my own short animations using recycled materials, including paints, plasticine, fabric, seeds, and other trinkets.
My other interests include reading, swimming, cooking, and travelling. I’m excited to get started with my placement at EdShift and join the team in their amazing work empowering young people to be creative, build positive relationships and thrive.
