Hi! My name is Kerry and I’m a HCPC registered Art Psychotherapist, working 1:1 and dyadically through The Nest programmes, with previous experience of leading The Little Nests art therapy group.
My practice is trauma informed, child centred and child lead. I’m an advocate for mess making and creative play within sessions! I’m curious, non-judgemental, a patient and calming presence who creates a contained, safe space with the added ability to adapt any session for what the child or young person needs in that moment, as well as thinking about their therapy goals overall.
Personal reflective art making and practice is of importance also! I enjoy using messy materials like paint, clay and modroc, as well as more controlled materials like pens and collage. Expression through creativity is for everyone, it’s a powerful tool.
I am also the supervisor for Art Therapy students who come to EdShift for their placement. I uphold the duty of care in creating safe spaces to guide students through the beginnings of their professional journey.
For me, EdShift is the perfect place to have a positive impact on the community. I am blessed to be a part of this team, as it means I am able to contribute to the amazing work that EdShift continues to do.
